On Botswana's far northern
border lies the Kwando, Linyanti and Chobe river system forming a
series of lakes, islands and floodplains. This area forms the Chobe
National Park, famous for its large buffalo and elephant herds. In
addition to a variety of predators, there is an abundance of wild game
and bird life which decorate these beautiful waterways.
Game viewing at Chobe is a unique experience as we are on the doorstep
of the Chobe National Park, which hosts the largest concentration of
wildlife in southern Africa. The National Park is the best place
in the world to see the majestic African elephant for it is home to
the world’s largest elephant population. Game drives into the Chobe
National Park depart three times daily. Alternatively, choose a full
day’s game drive, including picnic lunch.

With stunning panoramic views, the
Central Lodge is the heart of Muchenje. Guests can relax
in the lounge, bar or look out platform and enjoy the wonderful homely
atmosphere.
Main lodge features dining area, bar,
reception, curio shop, game viewing platform and library.The feature
swimming pool is built amongst nateral rock formations, taking
advantage of the African vista and providing a tranquil setting for
guests to relax during the heat of the day. Meals are served
table d'bush, wholesome and plentiful, yet well presented. Theme
dinners, Vegeterians and special meal requests are catered for.
Guest dine together on a long railway
sleeper dining table, dress is informal.
Muchenje accommodates just twenty guests in intimate
exclusivity. The ten twin-bedded thatched chalets, all
with en-suite facilities, are sited on the escarpment edge all with
their own balcony and unique view. Each chalet is exquisitely
furnished and great care has been taken to create a true African
'ambience'.

The Chobe is perhaps the best known of Botswana's national parks. This is no doubt because of its large elephant herds, diverse wildlife and great beauty. The Park is composed of four distinct sections: Savuti, Linyanti, Nogatsaa and Serondella – each area totally different from the other and with its own specific charm. Serondella is situated along the banks of the Chobe River, which is the international boundary between Namibia and Botswana. The Chobe River is connected to the Okavango in the west via the Kwando and Linyanti Rivers and directly to the Zambezi River in the East.
