Moremi Crossing is a new 16 tented camp built on a palm fringed island surrounded by the Moremi's game-rich seasonal floodplains and overlooking Chief's Island. Moremi Crossing will be a new style safari camp combining luxury with simplicity. This is a 100% eco-friendly development featuring the latest in solar and waste disposal technology.

The main building consists of a large open plan deck that has a spectacular view over the Boro River onto Chief's Island. This crescent-shaped area is built on different levels to give you the feeling of space.

The dining room, bar and lounge are covered by a large thatched roof that hugs the tree line. Various small private lounge areas have been created for comfort, privacy and spaciousness. Within the tree line you will find a nice shaded decked area that leads to the pool. Moremi also has a Curio Shop where you may pick up some mementos which will remind you of your stay.

From April until the end of October an additional attraction at Moremi Crossings is Wilderness Camping into the further reaches of the delta.  All equipment and provisions are supplied by Moremi Crossings and are packed into your mokoro as you set off with your guide for an unforgettable wilderness experience.  Your trail will take you along winding channels lined with reeds, into the Moremi Game Reserve, an area renowned for its diverse bird and animal life.   For those guest wanting to experience Wilderness Camping it is recommended that you spend your first and last night at Moremi Crossings and then your middle night (or more) Wilderness Camping.

Your African experience starts with a twenty-minute light aircraft transfer from Maun over the southwestern Delta, taking in the magnificence of the winding, papyrus fringed channels that make up one of the worlds greatest wet land wonders. You will also be able to see some of Africa’s most celebrated animals from your seat – 500 FT above the ground. Here you will be met at our private airstrip by our Camp Managers, and taken to our elevated main lodge area for a welcoming refreshment, and then shown to your en-suite spacious tented accommodation – Meru tents (some of which are under thatch).

At Gunn’s Camp we have achieved a fine balance of comfort without isolating one’s self from the sights and sounds of nature. The main activities are mokoro (traditional dug out canoes) powerboat excursions, and guided game walks with our experienced guides who have spent their lives accumulating knowledge and understanding of the complex ecosystem of the Okavango Delta. As they show how to silently observe nature with minimal impact you will begin to realize the privilege and quiet excitement of being in one of those places that makes memories for you.

Chiefs Island where your activities take place offers one of the largest populations of African wildlife in the Delta area. Sightings may include lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and packs of wild dog running across the plains of the Delta. Our concession is also home to hippo, crocodiles, plains zebra and a variety of buck, including the red lechwe.

Gunn’s Camp is renowned for being a birders paradise, with over 240 species of bird including the rare Pel’s Fishing Owl and the endangered Wattled Crane. In the evenings you can relax in our elevated main lodge, or lie in the swimming pool sipping your drink watching the majesty of the African sunset, whilst reflecting on your day with fellow guests.
